Blast from 1999: Superstar

Me & my friends would always quote lines from this movie. So funny!

No rest for the weekend!!

Hey y'all!

It's been a few days since I blogged...sorry bout that. I have been helping my mother move from New Albany to Tupelo. Even though it was alot of work, I had a great time. We actually got everything moved in a day...thanks to my family & the UHaul that Moma rented. She had some heavy shit. My lord, one of her pieces of furniture took all of us to move...I don't know why in the hell she would get something that heavy, but it's a very pretty piece of furniture. I just hope that she's happy there and I wish her and Tommy well as they venture in to a new life.

Other than that, I got a new puppy this weekend. Actually, it was my mother's dog, but she cannot take it to her new house. It's a miniature chihuahua. She's so sweet. Saturday night, after we had all had an adult beverage, I laid down on the sofa and dozed off asleep, but quickly awoken to a little wimper. She wanted to be up on the couch with me. I picked her up and she proceeded to get under the covers & slept on my chest all night. It was so sweet. I wish someone had taken a picture. I will try and get pictures of Daisy to put on here.

Well, this is going to be a busy week for me. We've got some Vice-presidents & directors from the ADS corporate coming in today & tomorrow for meetings, so I've got to stay busy the whole time. I hope it goes by fast because when they are here, It's always something going on. Well, hope you have an AWESOME week.

Blast from 1999 - Cher

I heart Cher!! I hope that she does another tour because I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see her in concert again. This song was a memoriable part of my senior year experience. They played it at Prom & me & my friend Daniel would listen to it when we were out with friends in Ripley. I actually remember Entertainment Tonight done an interview with Cher when they were making this video. Time flies, doesn't it?!?

Just another Thursday - What's goin' on, Idol, more

Hey there!

I'm so sleepy this morning! Thank goodness I get to sleep a little later in the morning & not get up at 4 o' clock in the morning. I get up in the morning like that because my daddy, brother, & myself carpool to work every morning and since they work on the line...they have to get here at the butt crack of dawn. It gets tiring, but we're saving the enviorment & saving money at the same time.

Tomorrow night, I am going to my mother's house to spend the night. My sister, brother -in-law, & myself we're going to help her move to Plantersville. Tommy & Moma has bought a house there and decided to get as far away from Ripley as they can. I just want her to be happy & I support whatever she wants to do.

American Idol last night was so much better than last week. I thought Adam had the best performance of the night, followed by Allison, Matt, Kris, Danny, Anoop, Lil, Scott, Michael, & Megan. I really hope Adam does good and wins the whole damn thing.

Well, that's about it for today. Blah!

Hope you have a good Thursday,

Johnathon

Blast from 1999 - Drop Dead Gorgeous

I love this movie. I remember going to watch this my senior year in high school with all my buds.

What a rainy morning!

It's a rainy morning here in Mississippi. Just learned that they have issued a Flash Flood watch for my area because we're supposed to get 7.5 inches of rain! Man, if that does happen alot of our creeks & small rivers are going to flood. I just hope everyone is alright..remember don't drive through standing water..it may be deeper than you think.

I didn't watch the Presidential press conference last night because I was on the phone with my best friend from high school getting the menu ready for our class reunion. (More on that in a few moments) I support our President to the fullest and I feel like he's doing a good job for what he has inherited. My co-workers at work are calling him the "worst President in American History." I don't think they are giving him a fair chance. He's only been in office for three months and no one..no matter who you are cannot get alot done when you start a new job. He's trying to help America & I think that we need to have some patience. I am encouraged that the recession is going to be ending in 2009. As we have seen in the past two weeks, the Dow Jones has been up almost every day. One day is up almost 500 points. I'm no financial wizard, but I'm being optimistic.

As for my class reunion, we have confirmed our caterer. Nichols' catering out of New Albany, MS. When compilling my catering list for our planning meeting, I had completely forgotten about them. I'm so thankful that Heather suggested that because Nichols' used to cater the salesman/corporate lunches at BenchCraft and they were so good. We have decided on pork tenderloin and/or fried chicken breast, hashbrown casserole and green beans, a garden salad & pretzel salad, rolls, tea, & a choice of lemon crunch or 5-layer chocolate delight. I'm so excited. Believe it or not, it isn't that expensive either. It will be $10.00 per person. I'm was surprised that the price was as low as it was.

I'm getting new ideas everyday about our invitations & decorations. I have decided that with the invitations, I'm going to also include a RSVP card & the questionnaire. With the decorations, if I cannot get our senior pictures blown up, I'm going to make several balloon columns & arches, but I'm thinking that I may do it anyway, if I get our pictures blown up. It's really neat.

Well, that's all I have for today. Have a good hump day!

Take care & be safe,

Johnathon

Blast from 1999 - Candy

Lord, what were we thinking?!

Little Most Handsome 1989

Well, it's been a few days since I last blogged...Sunday, I was at my brother, Brian's house all day Sunday because his wife, Cortney had cooked some ham & the fixin's for lunch and my brother was watching the NASCAR race in Bristol. We had a really good time...my sister-in-law & myself aggravated each other while my brother was downloading some music on my computer. We had a really good time. I love my brother so much...he's such an amazing person. He's a good father, husband, son, & brother; I thank God everyday that He put him in my life. We have through many rough times especially with my parents' divorce & etc, but we always come out good in the end. Here's a picture of him on the side...
Yesterday, by the time I got home, showered & fed myself...I was SO tired so I decided that I would just rest & watch a little Dancing with the Stars & go to bed..which I done. Mondays just wear me down because that day everything is happening & I have to get caught up from the weekend. By Tuesday afternoon, I'm back to my normal peppy self.
I just hope today goes fast & smooth. I hate when a day just drags on & on...maybe I spread out all my work so it will make it go by faster. Tonight, I am going to Pine Grove school to see my niece, Kiley & my little cousin, Natalie in the Elementary Beauty Revue. I loved being in those things whenever I was in Elementary. I actually won it back in 2nd grade (Spring 1989). I can still remember everything. After we got through lining up for the judges, the Annual Staff took me off stage. I had thought I lost, but they told me whenever my name is called...go out and stand in the middle. I had won...I was so excited. I wanted a crown, but all I got was a dang'd ol' scepter, but it's alright though. I have always love beauty pageants. I was coaching my cousin Natalie all weekend...how to smile..ALWAYS look at the judges, how to turn & everything. Gosh, I would love to start all over and do it again. (BTW...no comments needed from the peanut gallery LMAO)
Well, I hope you all are having a good start to the week.
Take care,
Johnathon

Daily Funny 3/21/09 - Oprah's Va-jay-jay

My va-jay-jay is painin'

Man, what a weekend it's been so far

Hey y'all!!

It's been a weekend so far. Last night, we had our reunion meeting at MiPueblo in Ripley and even though only one person showed up...we had a really productive session. We are supposed to be having it on Saturday, May 16 at the Dumas Baptist Church Family Life Center. It's where the Class of 1996 held theirs at. We are trying to secure the place right now...we have got to get approval from the Deacons first...so keep your fingers crossed. Also, we have some really good ideas for registration, decorations, & other stuff. For a gift, we are getting some picture cds & music cds made from the years that we were in high school. That is so cool. I just hope that everyone that can, shows up and has a good time. I will keep you updated on the status...in the mean time...until the reunion...I'm going to post some YouTube videos from the years we were in high school...just to add a little nostalgia.

Today though, it's been a different story...it's been fairly quiet. I got up this morning and fell back asleep and didn't wake up til 9. It feels great on a Saturday to get to sleep late. Then I went to town with my stepmother, Karen. I had to buy me some new earbuds for my mp3 player because the other ones hurt like dammit, but got that done & went grocery shopping, bought easter decorations & a new desk. That's what I done this afternoon is put up decorations & put a desk together. I have pictures below of the Easter tree that me & my cousin, Natalie decorated. I know it may not look like much, but we had a good time & it made it a little festive.

Well, tomorrow is Sunday & of course it's another day for just getting ready for the work week ahead. I'm seriously glad that Good Friday is less than 3 weeks away so I will be able to have a long weekend. As of July 1st, I will get 2 weeks vacation & I plan to use that very wisely.

Well, hope your weekend has been good. Take care

Daily Funny - Crazy Dog

This reminds me of some people I know when they talk. LOL

First Day of Spring!!

Hey Y'all!! It's the first day of Spring! I'm so proud...I'm so tired of winter. Everybody is down & depressed in the winter and now everyone will start "perking" up.

This blog will be short today because I've got reunion planning things going on. So I hopefully can blog tomorrow and put some pictures or video of tonight's meeting on here.

Well, hope you all have a good Friday.

Take care,

Johnathon

Daily Funny - Kristen Chenowith Intervention

Kristen knows what she is talking about. She's fuckin' awesome!!!

Thursday - Weekend & Idol Results

Well, it's Thursday! Just 36 hours until the weekend begins and I cannot be more happier. I just want to get out this weekend and go do something. I have got my reunion planning meeting tomorrow evening and then I'm going to have a night out on Saturday. I don't care what it is, I just want to get out of the house.

Well, last night, Alexis Grace of Memphis was sent home on American Idol. WTF? Alexis Grace was so much better than Michael Sarver and he should had been sent home. I'm just proud that Danny & Adam are on to the next week's show. I'm torn between them...vote for the nice widower or the edgy homo goth boy. I will make up my mind (hopefully) by the top 5. I'm kinda proud that they went ahead and got "country" week out of the way. I haven't liked country music in years. So, I didn't like this week's performances at all...maybe with the exception of Adam's because his was original & it fit his personality. Maybe next week it will be alot better because they are going to sing Motown.

Well, this is all I have this morning. Sorry for my babbling.

Have a good Thrusday!

Daily Funny - MadTV Condo Report

I love this clip. I crack up everytime I see it because I know that will be me & my friends one of these days. LMAO

Class Reunion update 3/18/2009

Ok..here's the deal. I think I've set my expectations way too high. I would have thought everyone (especially my closest friends) would be excited the way I am about planning our high school reunion. I think I am probably wrong.

I have been looking forward to this since 2005. I've been checking out things to do, what do to, etc. I have some great plans, but if no one shows up then what is the use. I guess I'm just discouraged right now.

We are having a planning & organizational meeting on Friday at MiPueblo in Ripley. I am making reunion planning booklets & I even put an ad in the Southern Sentinel. So far, only one person has even contacted me about this and they said that "might" come. Then one of my dearest friends in high school told me that she was not going to come because it was the duties of the class officers to plan the reunion. I understand where she is coming from, but with that I'm scared that I'm going to end up planning & setting up everything by myself. Our President & Treasurer doesn't even care...which I knew that would happen & our Secretary & Reporter has families & careers so I know that they are busy, which is understandable. I just want to get people involved so that people will show up & have a good time. I wanted to gain a concensus of the class, to plan this sucker, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. I don't want this to be like the PGHS Class of 1998 reunion where from what I heard that hardly no one showed up.

Well, maybe if we can decide on a date & a place then I could plan the rest. I've already got a great caterer in mind & great decorating & party ideas...maybe that's the fag in me. Who knows. We will find out on Friday night.

Well, I hope you have a great Wednesday...HAPPY HUMP DAY!

Johnathon

Second posting!! YAY!

Well, I'm just sitting here waiting on my brother to get off work. My brother, daddy, & I carpool every day. It isn't a bad way to go. First, it's saving money, which by the way is a very important thing right now. Secondly, it's saving the enviorment. I think that more people should carpool if they could, it may be a hassel every once & a while, but it will help in the long run.

First & foremost, I'm not very good at blogging. I usually remember what I want to say before I get on here and when I actually do log in...I forget it. Talk about writers' block. Maybe that's just a sign of getting older. I hope not. LOL Maybe I need to start taking some gingko or drinking some green tea. Maybe that'll help.

Today has been such a lovely day. The weather, work, people has just been wonderful. I just wish every week could be like this. I haven't even had any down time at work, which has made the day go by faster. Sometimes, especially on Thursday & Friday, I am completely bored because I had gotten everything done for the week, but this week, I have decided to "create" some new duties for me to do at work to keep me busy. I have started several new reports to track damage to our trucks & trailers and also, I have created a report that tracks the productivity in the shop. I know that this is just "piddle" work, but I cannot stand to be bored.

Speaking of work, I don't wish bad on anyone, but I heard today that the President of BenchCraft/Berkline got fired today. I hate to hear about anyone loosing their jobs, but I'm proud that he did. He done an awful job and completely destroyed BenchCraft. At one time, my entire family (including myself) worked at BenchCraft. I first started as a engineering analyst then was promoted to Scheduling Analyst, & finally was promoted to market coordinator. I worked my tail off to make sure the samples get to and from all of our markets. Then all of a sudden Berkline bought Benchcraft and it started going down hill after that. One by one, my family was picked off, when only one person left...my brother. My grandfather who had worked there for 27 years was forced to retire. Berkline didn't care about BenchCraft...they just wanted the name. They didn't care that it was the heart of Tippah County..they didn't care about how they would hurt thousands of Northeast Mississippi families. All they cared about is greed. Money, money money! That's a crying shame. BenchCraft had a quailty product and Berkline was worried that we were going to take their business and so, they bought us and gobbled us up. I don't wish bad on the hard working, blue collared people in Morristown, TN because for them I am hoping that Berkline is doing good, but to the Presidents & Vice Presidents of Berkline. They can all go to hell in a handbasket. You may say that I'm bitter, hell yeah, I'm bitter. They put thousands of my family & friends out of a job just for a name. I could never buy anything Berkline because I would know what they done to people. Don't buy Berkline..they are an evil company.

Ok...sorry for my rant there. I just had to get that out. LOL

Well, so much for my second posting. Sorry for the little temper tantrum, but I think it's sorry how the corporations of this great country of ours is destroying the nation.

Well, hope your St. Patrick's Day went good..don't drink too much green beer!

Later,

Johnathon
